Frequently Asked Questions

When you book in advance, you'll have a guaranteed spot in the Clearly Square One store. You can still come in without an appointment, but we recommend booking beforehand so you don’t have to wait in line if you happen to visit at one of our busy times. If you already have an eye exam booked, you don’t need a store appointment.

Routine eye exams aren’t covered by OHIP for people between the ages of 20 and 64, unless specified by your doctor. Please visit the Government of Ontario website for more information.

Yes, Clearly offers direct billing online and in-store.

Visit your nearest Clearly to claim your vision insurance benefits upfront, skip the paperwork and save money on your eyewear. Whether you have workplace insurance, student coverage, or coverage through a partner or carer, you can use your benefits at your nearest Clearly.

To claim your benefits in-store, please bring your insurance information and your prescription with you. Our team will help process your direct billing claim.

If your insurance provider isn't eligible for direct billing, or if you prefer to process your claim manually, you can submit a receipt directly to your provider (along with any other required paperwork). We'll send your reciept once your order has shipped.

The cost of an eye exam will depend on your vision needs and your optometrist’s expertise. Eye exam prices at Clearly’s partner clinic in Mississauga, Asgarpour Optometry, range as follows:

• $95 for adults between 20 and 64
• OHIP provides annual coverage for children (0-19 years) and seniors (65 and above)
• Eye exam & contact lens assessments and fittings start from $125

Please visit the Government of Ontario website for more information.

Most extended benefits programs offer reimbursement for eye exams, so make sure to inquire about your coverage.

The prices of our glasses and contacts are the same in-store as they are online. However, we often run exclusive in-store promotions so it’s always worth talking to our experts so we can find the best deal for you.

If we have your contacts in stock, you can pick them up on the same day at our Clearly Square One location. You’ll need to bring a valid contact lens prescription and show it to the team.

Glasses orders take a little longer, as we have to create your custom lenses and fit them into your chosen frames. We can arrange to ship your glasses directly to you, or you can pick them up in-store. Typically, glasses orders take about 2 weeks. If you ordered your glasses online and want to pick them up in the store, you’ll also need to show us your valid glasses prescription.

There are plenty of pay parking lots at Square One Shopping Centre!

An ophthalmologist provides medical and surgical treatments for severe eye conditions. An optometrist is your primary eye doctor for routine eye care: full eye exams and vision tests. They provide eye prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses, and treatments for common eye conditions, such as dry eyes, glaucoma, and eye infections. Our local optometrists can also provide eye care for before and after eye surgery.

If you’re looking for an optometrist in Mississauga, book an eye exam or a store visit with us online.

An optometrist is your primary eye doctor who provides comprehensive eye exams and vision tests, eye prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses, and treatments for common eye conditions.

An optician is a technician who generally dispenses glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses according to the prescriptions provided by your optometrist or ophthalmologist. If your eyewear needs adjustment or repair, an optician can also help.

If you’re looking for a local optician or optometrist in Mississauga, book an eye exam or a store visit with us online.

Our optometrists will focus on a series of tests in a full eye exam
• Refractive issues: nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism, or presbyopia
• Overall perception: colour vision, depth perception, and eye coordination
• Assessment of vision loss: “lazy eye” (amblyopia), glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, cataracts, and keratoconus
• Assessment of other health conditions: vascular diseases, neurological diseases, inflammatory diseases, and certain cancers

Preserve your eye health and overall health effectively with a routine eye exam every one to two years.

Prepare to bring the following to your eye exam or routine eye checkup appointment with our optometrists:

• A list of any medications that you currently use
• All pairs of glasses that you currently use
• If you are a contact lens wearer, please wear your glasses to the appointment (if available), and bring your contact lens boxes/foils
• Your provincial health card

Contact lenses can correct for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. It’s best to see what your optometrist recommends because contacts are medical devices, and they are available in different shapes, sizes, and materials. Book an eye exam today for a valid contact lens prescription and initial contact lens fitting.

Toric contact lenses can correct for astigmatism and your optometrist may prescribe you with these lenses based on your assessment. Without the correct shape and prescription power, regular contacts cannot correct blurry vision caused by astigmatism and allow for more object focus. Book an eye exam today for a valid contact lens prescription and initial contact lens fitting.

A comprehensive eye exam is a thorough assessment of your vision and eye health. If you’re new to contacts or you need a new prescription, you’ll need a a contact lens exam. It includes a contact lens fitting (a measurement of your eye surface and evaluation of your tear film) to ensure the best lens fit. If you’re considering prescription glasses, a comprehensive eye exam is adequate. Learn about the differences between contact lens and glasses prescriptions.
