Flo Rida: “I Cry” Math Glasses

2012 has been the year of Flo Rida with his domination of charts and achievement of simultaneous hits in the top five on US Billboard Hot 100 with “Good Feeling”, “Wild Ones” and “Whistle”. Flo Rida’s music demonstrates a key integration of samples, including Etta James’ “Something’s Got a Hold on Me”, and collaboration as seen in his work with Sia and upcoming remix with 50 Cent. In its first week, his album, Wild Ones, debuted at number one in Canada and in the Top 20 in over 10 countries worldwide.

Growing up as Tramar Dillard, “I Cry” tells the story of his difficult upbringing in Carol City, Florida and his transformation to the superstar known as Flo Rida. “I Cry” shows his young self viewing the world through his Derek Cardigan math glasses and overcoming circumstances to push forward with his dreams.

Flo Rida’s first taste of success came with the release of the No. 1 single “Low” featuring T-Pain in 2008. In the past few years his popularity has continue to grow as he has developed a strong sense of style, often wearing trademark glasses and sunglasses. It is no surprise that for “I Cry” he selected the unique math glasses, designed exclusively by the Derek Cardigan eyewear brand.

Seen prominently in the video, the classic glossy Derek Cardigan 7004 Black eyeglasses feature distinct multiplication and division symbols that provide a twist on the classic Retro-Wingtip style that has dominated the fashion scene.
