As soon as we came across Jessica’s Instagram profile, we knew that a beautiful relationship was in the works. She had tagged us in one of her photos and it was love at first sight. For most of us, glasses are the item we turn to when we’re looking for something comfy but Jessica wants to turn that around and make glasses a glamourous accessory.

Name: Jessica Wong

Nickname: Jess

Instagram & Twitter: _jessicawong, jessica_jw

Home Base: Vancouver, British Columba

Current Occupation: Biology Student

I applied to become a style ambassador because: I was “scouted” after posting a picture of myself in a pair of tortoise Derek Cardigans on Instagram. I happily agreed to be a Style Ambassador because I wanted to show glasses in a different light. Instead of portraying the typical “hipster” connotation associated with glasses, I went ahead and tried to make it a “glamourous” accessory.

I chose this pair of glasses for my starter kit because: Monochrome is extremely versatile. But versatile doesn’t necessarily mean plain. I love how the temples sport some sort of animal print-like pattern.

My glasses collection consists of __ pairs of frames: Four.

My favourite fashion trend of the moment is: Monochrome, monochrome, and monochrome.

If I could be stuck in an elevator with anyone, it would be: Has anyone said Ryan Gosling yet? Who wouldn’t want to be stuck in a confined space with Ryan Gosling…

My go-to drink at Starbucks is: Grande triple soy caramel macchiato at 130 degrees… Oh, and don’t forget a straw with that.

Glasses are an amazing accessory because: They’re amazing yet so underrated! Glasses can seriously make or break an outfit or style choice. Discover a style that fits your own unique personality and one that throws your confidence through the roof. Then a pick a pair of glasses that compliments it!

I would describe my personal style as NYC black-on-black by day, and overdressed for the Academy Awards by night. There really is no ‘in between’ for me.

The best way to organize a closet is: Well, I would say colour and type. But in my case, just type. There’s not much colour to sort in my wardrobe.

A tip to picking out the perfect pair of frames is: Know your face shape and what compliments your face structure. Just because it looks amazing on one person doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll work out for you.

My favourite online source for style inspiration is: For the latest trends, I like to scroll Harper’s Bazaar’s website. For styling, I like to visit Lookbook.nu.

Some favourite boutiques in my area are: Loft 82/Oak + Fort makes some perfect minimalistic pieces that can become staples in all wardrobes. They’ve got the colour palette of Céline and the wearability of Alexander Wang.

My current style muse is Blake Lively and her Gucci gowns at red carpet events. Gor-geous.

A social media platform or app that I can’t get enough of is: … Tinder. Instagram is a fantastic platform to instantly see how celebrities and fashion icons dress on a day-to-day basis. We generally only see them airbrushed and “dressed to the nines” so it’s helpful to see their selfies for style inspiration.

My favourite fashion blogger is: Not exactly a blogger, but Eva Chen who works for Lucky Magazine and Vogue China.

Buying the same piece of clothing in multiple colours, yay or nay?: Yay! Like one in black, and one in white…

Favourite city to go shopping is: It’s going to be a draw between London and Vienna.
