Chiefly inspired by neo-noir films like Blade Runner, Sin City, and Gattaca, the newest line from Derek Cardigan casts a familiar silhouette. The brand’s usual over-sized rectangles, bold cat eyes, and rounded wingtips are all present and accounted for, but this time they come with a shimmering twist.
This is Derek Cardigan’s first foray into metal frames, and the result is a timelessness that occupies a space between past and future, vintage and sci-fi.
Fit, Function, and Futuristic Style
The frames are crafted from stainless steel and accented with a number of thoughtful details, forming eyeglasses that are as comfortable as they are cool. Adjustable nose pads offer a wider fit range, tinted spring hinges add a monochromatic and long-lasting wear, and an acetate-sleeved temple end sits comfortably behind the ear.
Hue Crew
Each frame comes in a shade of classic carbon black, a matte slate grey, and then a pop of either emerald green or fuchsia.
While the black is a great choice for instant impact, the muted grey and bright green complement cooler skin tones, and the fuchsia is perfect for giving golden and deeper tones a fun splash of pigment for their every-day wardrobe.
The Neuromantics
The range offers something for everyone, with styles to flatter a host of different looks:
For retro revivalists, the Frankie is a great choice for classic cat eye style. Its winged-out shape is perfect for low foreheads, tapered jaw lines, and small and medium faces.
Boys and girls alike can play with the quirky-cool Vincent frames, with their winged-out rounded lenses and a keyhole nose bridge.
The Billie is a petite and nerdy-cute pair that play with a classic Clubmaster style to flatter lower foreheads and wider jaw lines.
The Deckard is a more squared-off take on a retro wingtip design — a no-nonsense frame fit for rounded faces and soft features.
The Max is an over-sized alternative to the Deckard, with a wider fit and an even more squared-off shape.
