Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clearly.ca\/glasses\/bio-acetate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">collection of bio-acetate frames<\/a> is made from renewable resources, which use 54% less CO<sub>2<\/sub><sub> <\/sub>emissions compared to standard plastic.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Available as either glasses or sunglasses, our collection of bio-acetate frames are biodegradable and bio-based \u2013 that\u2019s a double-bio-whammy. This introduces a whole host of chemicals and processes that aren\u2019t very good for the planet.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than using fossil fuels, bio-acetate frames are made with an organic, plant-based, phthalate-free plasticizer. All these fancy words mean that our plant-based collection is made from natural and renewable resources.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How long does it take for bio-acetate glasses to biodegrade?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t worry \u2013 you\u2019re not going to end up with compost juice on your face. Our bio-acetate frames are built to last. They\u2019re as durable and reliable as traditional acetate frames (just with a more planet-friendly vibe).\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can wear them for many years (though remember you need an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clearly.ca\/thelook\/eye-exam-essentials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eye exam<\/a> at least once every 2 years, so be sure to update your frames with your prescription).\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can you put bio-acetate frames in the compost?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t quite work that way \u2013 bio-acetate and compostable materials should be treated differently.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While these frames are biodegradable, they won\u2019t break down at the same rate as your apple cores and coffee grinds.
