Vial Contact Lenses
Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses are a flexible, yet rigid lens worn by some contact lens wearers. The benefits of rigid gas permeable lenses are that they may provide crisper vision and increased durability when compared to soft contact lens. It’s interesting to note that rigid lenses can replace the natural shape of the cornea and will hold their shape when you blink. Rigid gas permeable lenses, also known as RGP lenses, provide sharper vision than soft lenses and are especially good if you have astigmatism. Another benefit of rigid lenses is that they are extremely durable, so they won’t tear as easily. Rigid gas permeable lenses don’t contain water as most soft lenses do, so protein and lipids won’t cling to the lenses as much and will be easier to clean. So what’s in these lenses? Many rigid lenses contain silicone which allows oxygen to pass through the contact lenses and allows your eyes to breathe. Finally, these lenses will likely last you longer, which will end up saving you money in the long run as you won’t need to replace them as often.
